This morning smartphone camera accessory company Moment rereleased some new products, some that mark a completely new product category for the company. DJI Drone Lenses and Filters.
Most people who have used Moment lenses for their smartphone will tell you they love them! Unlike most cheap $5 Chinese eBay phone lenses, these actually work. They don't make your image look worse or the quality go down like most other clip on lenses for smartphones do. So this morning when I got an email from Moment about their new venture into lenses for some of DJI's latest drones I was interested, even though I don't own one of DJI's latest drones.
The first new product on the list of releases is the Air-light Filters. The CPL and ND filters according to Moment's Kickstarter page make your drone (and the footage) look better. "Our ND makes all the difference in giving you that slight, cinematic blur. Our CPL helps you change the light angle bouncing off bright surfaces" By using aerospace-grade materials they could cut unnecessary weight by about 10% making these filters the lightest filters for Mavic 2 drones.
The second product to be shown off today, which is probably my favorite, An Anamorphic lens for the DJI Mavic 2 drones. If you have seen the results of the the Anamorphic lens for smartphones, then you know why I think this one is great. Moment's anamorphic lenses give off a cinematic look that most would not expect from a smartphone camera.

Last but not least we get Moments new .75mm thick smartphone case. You might be thinking how does a smartphone case fit into this new line of products, but I'm sure drone users could figure this one out. This case will actually fit properly with drone controllers. This isn't the case for most cases so its nice to see a dedicated one from Moment. This cases which is the thinnest one yet from Moment come in at just 12 grams in weight and will work with the DJI flight controller as well as most gimbals obviously including the DJI Osmo 2. One downside though is it appears that the case only is available for iPhones right now.
This product launch should defiantly be something that excites all DJI drone videographers and users alike as these are some very useful and quality accessories that will make your footage and flight experience better.
