The Galaxy Fold has not been folded.

They said it wouldn't be coming back, they celebrated the death, they gloated the fact foldable phones were a failure. They were wrong.

Samsung much to the sadness of the foldable phone opposition everywhere confirmed via a press release that the Galaxy Fold hasn't been canceled. Not just is it not canceled but its also back and better than ever with improvements to avoid and any breaking news this time. And best of all arriving in September!

For those who have preordered though Samsung.com this means you should be receiving your long awaited Galaxy Fold in the coming months. For those looking to snag one from T Mobile though you're going to have to look else where as T Mobile has confirmed they won't be selling the device. As for other sellers such as Best Buy and AT&T carrying the phone at this point were not sure.

Regardless you should still be able to pick up the phone from Samsung in September or the following months depending on availability.

According to the press release the Revised Galaxy Fold will have the following improvements to insure its durability:

  • The top protective layer of the Infinity Flex Display has been extended beyond the bezel, making it apparent that it is an integral part of the display structure and not meant to be removed.

  • Galaxy Fold features additional reinforcements to better protect the device from external particles while maintaining its signature foldable experience:

  • The top and bottom of the hinge area have been strengthened with newly added protection caps.

  • Additional metal layers underneath the Infinity Flex Display have been included to reinforce the protection of the display.

  • The space between the hinge and body of Galaxy Fold has been reduced.
